“See” Inside Walls and Equipment
Better Diagnostics = Fewer Surprises
|
Imagine having the ability to “see” inside your walls and equipment. The building experts at zumBrunnen can now “see” into your rooms, ceilings, walls, equipment and more with their state-of-the-art thermal detection equipment. Infrared thermography measures the infrared energy of an object and produces a visual image representing the temperature profile. When used as a building and equipment diagnostic tool, it is a quick and easy way to locate and address problems because it is non-invasive and offers minimal disruption. It helps detect problems before costly failure occurs. |
Detect Hidden Problems
"See" Inside Your Buildings and Equipment
State-of-the-art equipment and advanced training empower the certified Level 1 Thermographers at zumBrunnen to properly diagnose a broad range of issues and improve the quality and detail of their reports without destructive testing. zumBrunnen uses a FLIR B50 infrared camera for this inspection, and maintains a Level 1 Certification that complies with the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A.

![]() Air leakage under an exterior wall is clearly evidenced by the dark purple color. By reducing air leakage, you will improve comfort, and conserve energy thereby lowering operating expenses. |

Quickly Assess an Entire Building
Large areas can be quickly scanned to assess an entire building including the roof, building envelope, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and electrical systems. zumBrunnen’s trained inspectors can quickly look at an entire facility or campus, including the:
- Roof
- Building Skin
- HVAC Systems
- Plumbing & Electrical Systems
Target "Invisible" Problems
With the equipment, zumBrunnen’s trained inspectors “see” otherwise non-visible moisture intrusion/ingress and locating areas of water intrusion under floors, and in walls and ceilings. The equipment will also help detect electrical problems. The high-quality thermograms pinpoint loose connections with motors, starters and electrical panels that might later cause serious problems such as fire. The equipment also helps highlight where energy efficiency can be improved by allowing the inspectors to “see” missing insulation, damaged pipes, air leakage, poorly sealed windows, doors and ductwork. Now, you can pinpoint:
- Energy Loss
- Water Penetration
- Electrical Hot Spots
- Substandard Construction
- Structural Defects
In addition to diagnosing problems, zumBrunnen’s experienced inspectors use the high-quality thermograms as “before and after” images to document problems and show proof of repair to provide their clients with additional assurance and peace of mind in knowing problems have been adequately solved. zumBrunnen’s inspectors have completed certification training to learn how to collect quality data, take accurate readings, interpret thermograms and properly apply them in predictive maintenance applications.
